I hate people that are ruled by their emotions. Time and time again I have to suffer the mental anguish of being exposed to persons suffering from “whiny bitch” disease. I believe the colloquial term for it is “bloodclaat ieediat”.The first symptom of whiny bitch is stubbornness and a refusal to listen to cold hard facts. This by itself however, is merely ‘tuff head’ syndrome, which is bad an nuh suh bad. You can tell someone is whiny bitch positive if they get overly aggressive and overly excited when you disagree with their opinion. In the latter stages of ‘whiny bitch’ disease, such persons will completely refuse to acknowledge cold hard facts, and go with their emotions, usually accompanied by name calling and personal attacks.

I encountered two girls in the latter of stages of whiny bitch disease, who were of the opinion that “anybody weh a tek up fi chris brown need fi go play in traffic they are just as weak and pathetic as he is … anyman weh beat woman or even considers justifyng that its acceptable under any given circumstance is a big big big big big PUSSYHOLE!“

Now of course I responded by saying “what happen to innocent until proven guilty? we don’t know what caused the fight. I heard the fight was a mutual fight, so we don’t know who the aggressor was or what started it. neither party has released a statement of what took place, so the world world is just speculating. i heard she got beat cuz she gave him an std. Now if this is true, then as chris rock said “OJ, I’m not saying it was right, but i understand”. I see people commenting already saying its never OK to hit a woman. Well allow me to list a few circumstances where it is morally OK, even if it is not legal, and where any woman should expect to get her ass kick by any man, or woman for that matter if you swing that way.
-she cheated on you and gave you AIDS
-claim the child is yours and it’s someone else
-starts to hit you first … in which case hitting her back is a matter of self defense and is legal too

Being a calm and reasonable man, I exited from this conversation telling her that she should be careful about how she talks to people. As is expected from a person of her class, and one in the advanced stages of whiny bitch disease, the response naturally was along the lines of an invitation to try something if I’m so bad. This my dear readers, is the heights of being a bloodclaat ieediat. Being a pacifist, I would never dream of taking up her offer, but it’s just so sad that we still have people who feel the need to act like the baddest thing alive. With an attitude like hers, I foresee domestic abuse in her future as well.

Towne Crier does not advocate violence in any shape or form, domestic or otherwise. Towne Crier simply recognises the need to apply a uniform method of reaction. There can be no equality in society while persons are of the opinion that no matter what a woman does she must never be hit, not even in self defence, as was my third example above. Towne Crier is simply being realistic. Towne Crier finds the vilification from the girls above, and of companies which removed their sponsorship from Chris Brown to be abhorrent. You do not pass judgment until the facts are heard, innocent until proven guilty, and as it stands there has not even been a statement of the facts from Rihanna’s people.

It’s people like her who form women’s activist clubs and bash men for breathing the same air. I concur that the world is speculating what happened and we’ve only seen from one side. In an interview, CB said “the world will soon know the type of person she is”. Waiting to hear more on that story.
While i condone the beating of women/ men by the same/ opposite sex, it should be within just reason where an incident like this would happen. Maybe it was self defense, may not.
He who is not guilty shall cast the first stone.

It is bad when a man beats a woman like that. However, as you said, we all don’t know what really went on. So until then I will just wait and see until the facts come out.

I had a heated discussion with friends females included about the Chris Brown Rihanna episode, not all females are sympathetic to the alleged victim,in fact most women/people in general make a fair assessment and reasonable conclusion once all the facts are laid out.
Of course you will have those who just hate men and are delighted at another example justify and reaffirm their hate. The hate for men is not just from women, you also have “whiniy bitches” if I might borrow your term who are men too who are advocating a holy war on Brown. Rational arguments means nothing to them, there are no facts,no justification for a man for hitting a woman even in self defense.
The society is over sensitized about how vulnerable women are, as if they are totally incapable of evil. “motherliness” is supreme and pure. “Never lay your hands on a woman” even if she is kicking your ass. This is all bullshit. How about never lay your hands on a man. Sounds strange don’t it?
Women have been marginalized and taken advantage of in the past and in some parts of the world are sill seen as less than equal to a man. In our attempt to correct this wrong the judicial system, political system, media, society as a whole are fully engaged in unconscious and conscious affirmative action for women, similar to affirmative action as it relates to blacks and whites.
Even if affirmative action benefits one group it is bound to cause another unfair balance that the action was seeking to correct. Men might begin to feel less loved, unimportant. Even a “real man” needs to feel that society treats him fairly. We have seen many examples of missing wives. In America if a white female (wife) goes missing it is big news. After much digging we might soon hear she filed for a divorce. Divorce is not favorable to men in general as it relates to parting of assets or even custody.
Women get lighter sentences while men get the book thrown at them. The judicial system especially favors the woman in most cases awarding custody of children(motherliness paradigm)and assets in custody and divorce battles.

most of my points have already been made here…we need to be careful not to react like people now do to ‘reverse racism’.
the world isn’t equal yet; it’s an incredibly dangerous slippery slope to act like it’s the end of the world if people (shockingly!?!) try to protect more (statistically proven) at-risk sections of the population. and i’m sorry, verbal abuse is simply not on the same level as physical abuse.
i 100% agree with the doublemint commercial being pulled. you do NOT want people who are under criminal investigation pushing your products. advertising is reputation-based, and they brought in chris due to his squeaky-clean good boy reputation. note who wrigleys has doing their other ads…that’s the look they want.

Real men don’t beat up on women if they can walk away instead. The fear of losing face is a pathetic excuse but used by some. The fact that some women hit men is no excuse for men ever doing it. If you are in a relationship which clearly has the potential for violence of any kind then you should get out of it. Only cowards and bullies of either gender beat up those more vulnerable than themselves. It’s about respect, many Jamaican men think it’s their birthright to play around and to beat up women they don’t respect women, period. Certainly their are some ‘tuff’ Jamaican women whose behaviour doesn’t fit with their role of being the civilising influence in society but they need educating not beating.

A real “adult” walks out of conflict. So male or female if you can walk away from a fight then that is the adult thing to do.
But you claim that “The fact that some women hit men is no excuse for men ever doing it.” and I say bullshit. Why are you making it sound worse when men do it? You don’t have to be a “tuff” woman to be able to inflict damage on the average man if you want to. It’s equally as bad IMHO.
Violence is so ingrained in the culture of poor people from so many reigons, the caribbean, america, india, etc. that to say that a man who beats a woman is a coward or a bully is just plain wrong, and a gross oversimplification.
There are two types of persons who use violence in relationships.
1- The cowards and bullies you mentioned who use it for their own twisted purposes, and
2- People who use violence as a form of communication and interaction as a norm. Some women EXPECT to be beaten once in a while to know that their man loves them. Some relationships prefer to fight out a quarrel rather than talk it out. It may seem crude but the psychological effect and motives in this second category are not the same as the first.
To illustrate, consider the difference between rape and consensual sex. The act is the same, but because of the different mental associations placed on each you get different outcomes. One is interpreted as abuse and violation, another as an accepted and wanted interaction.
When it comes to chris brown it seems that he falls into category 1, but you shouldn’t generalise the way you do.
Society has a great zeal to progress, and we like to talk about all these things that are negative without taking the time to understand them properly. We saw that with the attack on gender roles, we saw that with laws that were meant to bring equality but which actually reinforced inequality because they upheld the “weak-woman” stereotype and worse, they made criminals of all men. I strongly suggest you read some individualist, or recent feminist writings. They themself agree with me on my points about the attack on gender roles and the well intentioned but misguided laws.
IMHO society has not learned that we need to distinguish acceptable expressions of physical force, aggression, and competition, from non-acceptable expressions of it.
